OUR STUDENTS
It’s been an absolute pleasure to teach so many people mahjong here in this small space of ours. We’ve been teaching since late 2024, and honestly, we’ve lost count of how many people have come through our doors and kept coming back to enjoy our sessions, with new people coming and going along the way.
I know for some, having your photo taken is something people can feel a little awkward about, and I completely understand that — which is why I always ask if it’s okay to take a group photo of the table.
Because to me, your 2 and a half hours with us means a lot. You may have eaten our food, learnt how to play mahjong, won a big hand, or even made some friends and swapped contacts.
This, to me, is what mahjong is all about — it’s exercising the brain, it’s belonging, it’s community building, and most importantly, it’s all good vibes. There aren’t many things you can do that require you to be completely phone-free other than playing mahjong with three other people, whether you know them or they’re complete strangers.
Hopefully you’ve enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy, your time with us — this is the memories we’ve created together. And proof our phones were away and unseen.
